PROS Smart Apps Fit Right in With Analytics Theme at Salesforce World Tour Chicago

PROS joined the Salesforce World Tour in Chicago last week as an event sponsor. Unsurprisingly, the big news was Wave and more Wave. The Salesforce analytics cloud was first unveiled at Dreamforce 2014 and will be the central focus heading into Dreamforce ’15, with Analytics and Data Science being positioned as the fourth pillar of Salesforce’s message along with Mobile, Cloud and Social.

One of the highlights of the event was seeing Merck (also a PROS customer) take center stage in a powerful keynote video that showcased how they are using Wave to create a more connected and insightful interaction between doctors, patients and their prescriptions. Merck’s earlier work with PROS on pricing no doubt helped establish an appreciation for what Data Science and “Smart Productivity” (a term used in their video) can do to transform a company. Smart productivity is definitely a sentiment PROS can relate to, as empowering customers with smart apps is a cornerstone of our approach, from price optimization to CPQ.

Three Pillars One of the key takeaways from the conference was the concept that Salesforce is developing around how transactional applications are layered:

System of Record: ERP System of Engagement: The Salesforce Platform Ecosystem System of Intelligence: Companies such as PROS that deliver the smart apps that power prescriptive analytics

Last but not least, thanks to our partner SpringCM for throwing a great party on Wednesday night at their Chicago HQ with Acumen Solutions and Seal. More than 100 people dropped by to network and have a good time, including Salesforce’s VP of Strategic Research (and perennial Dreamforce TV star) Peter Coffee.
