Technology Evaluation Centers: PROS Cameleon CPQ and SpringCM Partner

PROS, a provider of big data software for sales, has announced a partnership with SpringCM, a cloud contract management software company. The goal is to integrate the SpringCM cloud contract and document management software (a Salesforce1-certified mobile contract management solution on the Salesforce AppExchange) with PROS Cameleon CPQ, a configure price quote (CPQ) solution.

With the addition of contract management from SpringCM, PROS claims to be the only CPQ offering with price optimization and contract management, i.e., able to handle the entire opportunity-to-revenue cycle. This combination should come in handy for customers who all too frequently get bogged down in back-and-forth contract negotiations, which slows down deal closures. The offering should add speed and agility to the process in their customer relationship management (CRM) environments.

This move should make PROS Cameleon CPQ even more competitive against Apttus (whose origins are in contract management), CallidusCloud, FPX, and others. It is interesting to note that SpringCM has a similar alliance with SteelBrick.

SpringCM also becomes the newest member of PROS’ burgeoning partner and alliances network, which is the company’s major focus of late. One should expect more news on that front over the next year or so.
