Texas Tech Pulse: PROS Picks Up SignalDemand

Houston-based big data software developer PROS said today that it has acquired San Francisco-basedSignalDemand, for $13.5M in cash. SignalDemand developes predictive analytics software for businesses, and employs 40. According to PROS, it will use the acquisition to bolster its big data solutions. SignalDemand’s customers were in the agri-business, food, chemicals, mill products and wholesale distribution industries. SignalDemand was venture backed by Catamount Ventures, General Catalyst Partners, Hummer Winblad Venture Partners, and Interwest Partners, and had raised somewhere around $37M in venture funding.
