By Allison Collins

PROS (NYSE: PRO) is buying Toulouse, France-based Cameleon Software SA (Paris: CAM) in a $33 million deal.

The deal unites Houston-based PROS pricing technology with Cameleon’s configure, price and quote technology, which is used for negotiated selling and self-service sales. The services will be combined into a single technology.

The purchase price works out to about $2.82 per share. Cameleon’s shares closed at about $2.35 on Oct. 23, before the deal was announced.

The deal has been approved by the boards of directors from both companies, but still requires shareholder approval.

Other recent software deals include Oracle Corp.’s (NYSE: ORCL) acquisition of Big Machines, and InfoVista’s purchase of Aexio Software Sdn Bhd.
