Meet Keyur Raj, Technical Lead at PROS, and passionate outdoor explorer! 🌿⛰️
Keyur serves as a key contributor on the PROS Revenue Management (RM) team, helping deliver scalable, high-quality solutions through hands-on development and technical leadership. His role involves designing and implementing new features, reviewing code for quality and alignment, and guiding decisions around frameworks, architecture, and system design.
Let’s get to know Keyur!
Tell us about your journey to PROS.
In 2010, I started working as a contractor for PROS from Pune, India during my early career in software development. After about a year, I transitioned into the Revenue Management (RM) team and continued in my contracted role before relocating to Houston in 2015. After three years of active contribution, I officially joined PROS full-time as a Senior Software Developer in 2018. I immediately loved the culture and how welcoming everyone was! It felt like being part of a family where people genuinely support and help each other grow, and I’ve loved every moment since.
What do you enjoy most about working at PROS?
In addition to the technical challenges I get to work through, I enjoy connecting with colleagues in the office and taking advantage of our employee lounge amenities.
I’ve also always enjoyed participating in and volunteering for non-work events that PROS organizes to help employees relax and stay balanced. Before the creation of our SAHARA ERG, I was involved in planning Diwali and other cultural events since I joined. Currently, as a founding member of SAHARA, I actively contribute to planning and executing events, helping foster community and engagement across PROS.
Tell us about a cool project you are working on.
I’m currently focused on adopting new tools and technologies for RM and driving key initiatives. These include modernizing the engine to streamline computational workflows, enhancing the product’s robustness and security, and building new features. We are also actively transitioning to the Data Platform and Databricks to modernize data processing and analytics workflows.
What do you do outside of work to recharge?
I enjoy playing cricket on the weekends and spending time with family and friends. It helps me recharge and prepare for the week ahead.
I also love adventures, especially ones where I can take my son outdoors to explore. There’s nothing better than that satisfying fatigue after a day of discovering new trails, parks, and natural spots.
What are you a PRO at? What do your coworkers go to you for?
I’m not sure if I’m a PRO at it, but I love nature photography and exploring the outdoors. I’ve always felt a strong connection to being out in the wild.
At PROS, my coworkers often come to me for help with RM tools and technologies, as well as for a quick chat to unwind and reset.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Choose any career you’d like, but always strive to be the best at it. That’s how you stay valuable and sought after.
