Meet the PROS: Alex Rafailov
Meet Alex Rafailov, Systems Engineer I, and go-to gamer! 🎮
Alex plays a key role in keeping our workplace technology running smoothly and securely. Based in our Sofia office, he supports employees across EMEA and APAC by ensuring they have the tools, systems and support they need to be productive. From onboarding new hires to enabling seamless events and driving internal tech improvements, Alex helps power the day-to-day operations that keep our teams connected and moving forward.

Tell us about your journey to PROS.
I joined PROS as an intern in June 2023. Prior to that, I was studying Software Engineering in the Netherlands. While I appreciated the field, I realized that software development wasn't truly where my interests lay. Around that time, I started developing a curiosity for system administration—something that stemmed from constantly tinkering with my personal computer, which I built myself from the ground up. When I came across the PROS internship opportunity, I decided to take a chance, and it turned out to be a life-changing decision!
What do you enjoy most about working at PROS?
What I enjoy most is the energetic, collaborative, and inspiring atmosphere my colleagues create. I love engaging in conversations across departments, learning about what each team does, and imagining how I can contribute to their goals. What motivates me the most is knowing that my work directly impacts others. Whether I’m resolving issues or completing service requests, the positive feedback and appreciation I receive fuels my passion to keep doing my best every day.
Tell us about a cool project you are working on.
Right now, we’re preparing equipment and setting up accounts for our incoming Summer Interns. It’s a significant effort, especially with more than 20 interns expected, but it’s incredibly rewarding to help ensure their experience is smooth and welcoming. Having been an intern myself, I find it especially meaningful to support new talent starting their journey at PROS.
What are you a PRO at?
I’d say I’m a PRO at solving complex issues and knowing how to escalate them effectively. Since the Service Desk often receives a wide range of requests, it’s crucial to quickly assess the situation and identify the right person or team to help. It’s a skill that requires both technical knowledge and strong communication.
I’m happy that coworkers feel comfortable coming to me with both technical questions and social invitations. I hope my coworkers see me as someone who provides quick, reliable support while helping to maintain a positive and low-stress work environment.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Communication is the gateway to gaining valuable experience. It is both the path for self-improvement in your work-life and the key to creating amazing connections with people, often lifelong ones.
