Meet the PROS: Brandy Frausto
Meet Brandy Frausto, Associate Communications Specialist at PROS, and visual storyteller!
Brandy helps promote our people programs, celebrate company success, and ensure that employees know what is happening across the business.
Tell us about your journey to PROS.
My journey to PROS began long before I officially joined the team. With my mom working in PROS HR, I grew up attending company events and meeting employees across departments—a dream for a social butterfly like me! Later, my sister joined the PROS IT team, expanding my connections even more.
Still, I never imagined I’d work here myself. That changed the month before I graduated from the University of Texas, when a family member mentioned an opening for an Associate Communications Specialist. Knowing PROS' culture firsthand, I saw it as the perfect opportunity. Now, nine months in, I couldn’t be happier with my decision, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds!
What's your favorite thing about working in your current role?
The best part of my role is connecting with people from across the company and engaging with them through various forms of storytelling. I love immersing myself in different communities and learning from my colleagues’ diverse backgrounds and experiences. Through projects like Meet the PROS and our social culture content, I get to showcase the incredible people who make PROS such a great place to work—it’s both inspiring and fulfilling!
Tell us about a cool project you are working on.
A project I love working on is Outperformer, our weekly internal communications newsletter. I collaborate with my team to keep employees informed and connected through engaging content. One of my favorite features, Meet the PROS, lets me spotlight colleagues across departments, helping us all learn more about the incredible people who make PROS special. It’s rewarding to use my creative and social skills to create content that brings the PROS community closer together and educates them on all the information they need to have a well-balanced work life.
What are you a PRO at? What do your coworkers go to you for?
I’d say I’m a PRO at visual storytelling. With a background in Radio-Television-Film, I’ve always been passionate about creating stories that resonate with others. In college, I wrote and directed two short films—one currently in post-production and the other having recently ended its festival run.
Videography is my favorite creative outlet, and I love bringing stories to life through film. That’s why my coworkers often come to me for video production, editing, and creative advice. Getting to do what I love every day is a true honor!
What's the best career advice you've ever received?
The best career advice I ever received came from my mother: “Do what you love, and the rest will fall into place.” As a child, it seemed obvious—why wouldn’t you choose what makes you happy? But adulthood quickly showed me it’s not always that simple.
As a first-generation Latina from a low-income household, I was often told that pursuing filmmaking wasn’t practical. But my mother’s words always stayed with me, reminding me why I chose this path. It wasn’t easy, but it was worth fighting for.
It is because of this love and support that today, I’m the first in my family to earn a bachelor’s degree and doing what I love every day—telling people’s stories. It is a true testament to the incredible opportunities that can come from faith and perseverance.
