Meet Erin White, Director of Tax and Treasury at PROS, and retired competitive golfer! ⛳️
Erin oversees global corporate tax compliance and reporting, as well as the management of bank accounts and cash balances. She collaborates with SG&A teams and various departments across the business to assess and address tax implications related to customer deals and vendor purchases.
Let’s get to know Erin!
Tell us about your journey to PROS.
I started my career in tax directly out of college. I was intrigued by the nuances of tax law and how people plan to be the most tax-efficient taxpayers possible. I spent seven years in public accounting before transitioning to industry, where I worked another five years in oil and gas, focusing on in-house taxes.

A friend who worked in PROS Finance kept trying to get me to apply and was persistent for months! I finally gave in and sent him my resume. I was instantly sold on the culture and the people here. The interview process was such a breath of fresh air, and I truly enjoyed meeting everyone—many of whom are still at PROS today.
What do you enjoy most about working at PROS?
I love that every day brings new challenges, and not just in tax. I’ve had the chance to work on special projects and acquisitions, the RFP for our ERP system, and other treasury initiatives to ensure we’re employing our cash in the best ways and maximizing returns. There’s always something new to learn and tackle.
Tell us about a cool project you are working on.

This year, I’ve been focused on managing our international cash balances, making sure funds are available where we need them while maximizing returns on our investments. Taking advantage of higher interest rates and seeing that “free” money come in is a great feeling. It means we’re moving PROS forward and hitting our financial goals.
What do you do outside of work to recharge?
I have 12-year-old twins, so most of my weeknights are spent chauffeuring, and weekends are often at the gymnastics gym or baseball fields. When we do get a break, I love to travel, especially to explore new countries, beaches, and golf courses.
The beach brings me a sense of calm and helps me come back refreshed and ready to take on anything. Golf, on the other hand, is a different kind of recharge. I am a retired competitive golfer but still spend much of my time on the course. All those hours on the course, competing against myself to improve my score, clears my mind, though sometimes it leaves me frustrated. But that’s what keeps me coming back to the game.

What are you a PRO at? What do your coworkers go to you for?
I’m a PRO at entertaining! I love having a full house, whether it’s a last-minute pizza night or a full-blown dinner, my door is always open. Every Christmas, I host my family of 30 or more for a traditional dinner, gift exchange, and plenty of laughter. If you come to my house, just bring yourself and an empty stomach. There will be plenty of food, stories, and fun waiting for you.
At PROS, I think my coworkers see me as someone they can go to for advice, both professional and personal. I love helping others grow in their careers, which is why I helped start our Graduate Development Program. It’s been rewarding to guide recent grads in discovering their passions and setting them up for success. I’ve built many lasting relationships with current and former coworkers, and I’m always happy to help them think through their next steps.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
There are two things that guide me in my career. First, surround yourself with people who are smarter than you. It doesn’t mean you don’t bring value, it means you’re always learning from others’ strengths while building on your own.
Second, kill them with kindness. I was once told I’m the nicest person to ever negotiate with and that I can make someone feel good about giving an extra discount. I’ll take that as a compliment!
