
Meet Ismaray Borrego, HR Business Partner at PROS, and passionate makeup artist! 💄
As an HR Business Partner supporting our Products team and Corporate Administration, Isma provides strategic HR guidance to department leaders, aligning people strategies with business goals and championing employee advocacy to ensure their voices are heard and needs met. Isma helps to advocate for a strong, inclusive employee culture that fosters engagement, growth, and performance.

Tell us about your journey to PROS.

I joined PROS through the Offer Marketing team after the EveryMundo acquisition, which was a truly positive experience. While transitions like these can bring uncertainty, PROS welcomed EveryMundo with open arms, especially the incredible HR team I now work with.
At PROS, I’ve expanded my exposure across multiple functions and business units, built a strong network, and served as co-president of BLAZE, our women’s ERG network. My experience at PROS, combined with my passion for HR, gave me the confidence to step into the HR Business Partner role and demonstrate my readiness to grow within the organization.

What do you enjoy most about working at PROS?
What I love most about my role is the opportunity to collaborate with innovative, forward-thinking business teams that inspire me every day, all while being empowered by an exceptional HR team. The EveryMundo to PROS transition gave me a unique chance to partner closely with teams across the organization, including IT, Procurement, Office Services, and our dynamic Products and Engineering groups. That experience deepened my understanding of their operations and strengthened my ability to support them strategically as an HR Business Partner.
One of my favorite parts of this role is hearing that something I did made a meaningful difference for someone. Knowing I helped create a positive experience, even in a small way, is incredibly fulfilling. A quote that always resonates with me is, “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” That sentiment drives me every day, and I genuinely light up when I receive positive feedback from someone I’ve supported.

Tell us about a cool project you are working on.
I’m not sure if it qualifies as a “project,” but I’ve been a full-time, unpaid dog trainer for my one-year-old Aussie Doodle, and it’s been one of the most challenging yet rewarding experiences I’ve taken on.
I set out to be his sole trainer, putting myself to the test and diving deep into understanding canine behavior. He’s been a handful, but watching the progress and growth has made every moment worth it. Along the way, I’ve learned so much, not just about him, but about dogs in general. It’s a journey I know will continue for years to come — a true labor of love!

What do you do outside of work to recharge?
To recharge, I love going for a run or jog most mornings. It’s my way of starting the day with clarity, energy, and balance. I’m also passionate about cooking and hosting dinners for friends and family. From crafting appetizers from scratch to preparing full meals and mixing signature cocktails, I like to think of my kitchen as a mini restaurant where everyone feels welcome!
Additionally, my husband and I are die-hard concert enthusiasts and proud old-school emo kids. We have a deep love for punk rock and never miss a chance to see our favorite bands live — if they’re touring, we’re in the crowd.

What are you a PRO at? What do your coworkers go to you for?
I may not be certified, but I consider myself a makeup artist and video content creator at heart. Makeup is one of my biggest passions, especially bridal and event looks, and it’s my favorite form of creative expression. I also love filming and editing long-form videos, which lets me bring stories to life visually.
My coworkers often come to me when they need a listening ear, a dose of inspiration, a good laugh, or even a mini therapy session. I’ve been told many times that I’ve inspired them in meaningful ways, and hearing that is incredibly fulfilling. If you asked them, I think they’d say I’m a pro at uplifting others and helping people bring out their best at work.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received is to advocate for yourself! Operate with the mindset that no one else will do it for you. It’s not that others won’t support you, but it’s about stepping into discomfort, sharing your insights, and showing confidence in your voice. That’s how people begin to rely on you, trust your judgment, and see you as a leader.
