LONDON & HOUSTON, June 14, 2012 – PROS® (NYSE: PRO), a world leader in pricing and revenue management software, today announced plans to showcase its big data solutions for pricing, marketing and sales performance at ACHEMA, Europe’s largest chemicals conference. Scheduled for 18th – 22nd June 2012 in Frankfurt, Germany, the event brings together companies that span the sector, including chemical engineering, environmental protection and biotechnology. PROS will exhibit with Microsoft in Hall 9.1 E68.

With more than 4000 exhibitors, 900 presentations and lectures, ACHEMA is the premier international conference for chemical industry business professionals. At the event, PROS and Microsoft representatives will discuss how chemical companies can leverage big data to optimize sales.

Rob Glenn, EMEA General Manager at PROS commented, “Chemical companies across the globe are faced with managing significant challenges based on raw materials volatility and global currency fluctuations. They’re searching for solutions that enable them to mitigate this volatility and identify where they have pricing power. PROS works with some of the world’s largest chemicals companies to help improve sales performance, marketing and pricing, enabling them to outperform in their markets.”

Ellyn Foltz, Worldwide Managing Director, Process Manufacturing and Consumer Goods at Microsoft said, “Microsoft provides chemicals companies with technology solutions that improve their performance and create value for customers, employees and other stakeholders. We are pleased to be working with partners like PROS on initiatives for the chemicals and process manufacturing sectors, including the ChemRA reference architecture which helps companies in these markets to innovate faster and maximise the value that is delivered by IT.”

PROS big data pricing solutions are part of Microsoft’s Chemical Reference Architecture (ChemRA) initiative, which provides chemical companies with a blueprint for unifying their IT architecture. This framework helps to make companies more responsive to the challenges that the chemical and process engineering sectors face, as well as providing them with opportunities to improve performance and profitability. ChemRA also helps these organisations to address user application requirements while being interoperable, easy to maintain and easily adaptable to their current IT environments.
