Offer Optimization: More Capabilities to Improve Forecasting, Pricing and Availability Control

This Fall Release is underpinned by Offer Optimization enhancements that enable RM analysts to better use the PROS systems. From improved new market forecasting to managing more granular pricing and availability controls, here are the latest improvements in PROS Revenue Management (RM) and PROS Real-Time Dynamic Pricing (RTDP) software.

  • Willingness-to-pay Sponsorship in PROS RM: Getting forecasts for new markets is now easier and quicker! With the Willingness-to-pay Sponsorship feature, RM analysts can now be more efficient and benefit from improved predictability for new markets by understanding their future behavior with this simpler sponsorship logic.

  • Tailored data display in the RM workflow: With this UI enhancement, airlines can now customize the volume of data loaded by default for display on the charts Historical/Forecast and Show-up Rates, interpreting only what’s most relevant for managing their markets.

  • RM Science research: In addition to the newly released features, the PROS science team is actively engaged with several of our Offer Marketing airline customers to deliver shopping data-based RM forecast influences. The goal is to research and evaluate how real-time shopping data impacts forecasting so analysts can notice demand patterns as they emerge and make smarter decisions. Stay tuned for more to come here!

  • Improved availability with PROS RTDP for connections with a Nego Block: Using the Nego Shift Segment Rule in PROS RTDP, RM analysts can now increase capacity on an O&D flight in cases when a segment has Nego Block present. This allows accepting bookings for flights in scenarios where a Nego Block is impacting sales.

Find out how the Nego Shift Segment Rule works in PROS Connect.

  • Competitive strategies in Metal Neutrality in PROS RTDP: Metal neutrality is the concept that the same availability and price strategies are applied irrespective of the operating carrier and the marketing carrier. To ensure consistent pricing across partner airlines, competitive strategies are now consistent with other availability strategies under metal neutrality.

Offer Creation and Retailing: Robust Pricing Flexibility in Compliance with Industry Standards

The focus of the enhancements in PROS Offer Creation and Retailing capabilities is on pricing flexibility. PROS is bringing robust configurability to airline analysts so they can leverage the latest industry standards to meet their business needs. Here are the latest improvements in PROS Shopping & Repricing, and PROS Ancillary Merchandising.

  • Price flexibility with extended price modifications: PROS supports a robust Price Modification feature that allows dynamic pricing based on parameters like market, fare preferences, point of sale, passenger type, and more. • Brand/bucket downgrade restriction during ticket change: With this enhancement airlines can now upsell to higher brands or fare buckets during flight re-shopping as new itineraries during ticket change can be restricted to higher or the same brand (fare bucket) options.

Find out how the Bucket/Brand Downgrade restriction works in PROS Connect.

  • Price flexibility for excess baggage charges: Using the Baggage Charge Price Alteration feature for excess baggage, analysts can now ensure accurate pricing for every single additional baggage piece. The processing is fully automated through a simpler and more efficient configuration of the excess occurrence in PROS Merchandising system.
